The cell driver field comes from the individual cells and the myriad functions that they carry out. In particular we are looking at the ability of your cells to drive energy production and metabolism (the sum total of all the activities carried out in your body). Each cell is an individual unit, with its own energy and information processing structures. It provides for its own needs as well as carrying out its particular functions for the body as a whole. As with everything in the world of energy, we are also looking at information exchange and how well each cell understands how to manage this process.

The cell driver field matches with the mitochondria, which are the energy powerhouses in the cells, and with ATP, the molecule we use as currency for all our energy needs. We may remember the electron transport chain from biology, which resides on the inner membrane of the mitochondria, and how it uses oxygen and enzymes to exchange electrons and create ATP. If we think of the shape of the mitochondria, they are tubular and this inner membrane is folded into many tubular shaped “cristae”. Our mitochondria therefore are cavities, capable of receiving source energy and NES research shows that there is indeed a match with the cell driver field and source energy. The cell driver field is correlated with creating energy in is broadest sense – from sugars and enzymes, photons (light), phonons (sounds) and electron exchange, all of which are involved in producing energy.

The mitochondria are small but powerful. One billion would fit into a grain of sand but, gram for gram, they are able to convert between 10,000 and 50,000 times more energy per second than the sun. The average cell contains 1,500 mitochondria. Cells that require a lot of energy, like the cells of the brain and nervous system, may have 4,500 to 6,000. In addition to producing energy, the mitochondria generate heat, store calcium for cell signalling, and direct important functions in the cell including cell growth and cell death.

Cell driver also matches with other cell organelles, each of which have highly specialised functions. The golgi body for example is responsible for processing cell waste, packing it up into parcels and sending it out for delivery to the bloodstream and removal from the body. The cell is full of little tubular structures, (microtubules) that give the cell its structure and act as conduits for the cell organelles to move about. Again, if we think of structure and function, the microtubules can collect and amplify source energy. They act a little like tuning forks that direct the flow of information in the cell. They are intimately involved in directing cell division and in protecting the chromosomes of the cells in this delicate process.

Another aspect to consider with a cell driver priority is its link to the mast cells. These immune system cells are involved in the inflammatory response, an important aspect of fighting infection and wound healing. They produce anticoagulants to inhibit blood clotting and make the blood vessels more permeable, allowing more immune system cells to arrive quickly at the scene. They are associated with fast-acting IgE antibody reactions and the release of histamine, which may be released excessively in allergies. The cell driver also links with the morphic field (the field that governs forms and shapes) and with the big fields (the alignment of the axes of the body).

Each cell needs to know its “identity” in order to generate its individual energy needs and carry out its specific functions. On a metaphysical level, cell driver may show as a priority when there is a need to focus on some aspect of our individual identity.

Issues: One could say that ageing and all chronic disease involves a breakdown in the mitochondria. Even a slight drop in mitochondrial energy may led to general fatigue, muscular fatigue and cognitive difficulties. Energy production in the mitochondria needs to be carefully controlled. Using oxygen to make energy creates free radicals, molecules that damage the mitochondria and the cells unless they are counteracted with antioxidants. If free radical production gets out of hand the mitochondria may actually shut down energy production in order to protect the cell, something that can occur in chronic fatigue conditions. (The cell can still make energy, but far less efficiently, through a process called glycolysis that doesn’t require the mitochondria or oxygen). Inflammation is a big driver of free radical production. So that’s any “itis” condition (like arthritis or sinusitis), any infection (immune cells produce huge quantities of free radicals to attack infection and also require lots of energy), and anything that drives inflammation in the digestive tract (like food intolerance for example) .Environmental toxins can poison our mitochondria, as can many prescription medications. Consider the energy needs of the body as a whole and the particular energy needs of systems and organs, according to your symptoms or goals.

ACTION: Stoke the fires of metabolism.

Questions: If you’re not firing on all cylinders, consider what might be happening with the mitochondria. Am I nourishing my mitochondria or am I overloading them with too many high-calorie, fast-releasing sugars? Is low energy affecting my abilities – to act, to focus, to manage my weight, to clear toxins? Am I clear about my identity? Am I confident in my unique abilities? Am I taking responsibility for my actions?

Eat your greens. Chlorophyll, the compound that gives colour to plants and allows them to capture sunlight energy, can also help your mitochondria to use sunlight energy to produce ATP.

Eat a rainbow diet, rich in the antioxidants that help to reduce the damaging free radicals that are produced as a natural part of energy production. Excessive free radical production can damage the intricate membranes of the mitochondria.

The enzymes that drive energy production require varies nutrients in order to function, including B vitamins and co-enzyme Q10 which is needed for the last stage of energy production in the mitochondria.

Avoid or reduce sugar and refined carbohydrates. Your mitochondria can only take on so much sugar. Overloading your mitochondria jams this delicate system and results in more free radical production.

Intermittent fasting helps to power and rebuild the mitochondria.

HIIT exercise also helps to power the mitochondria.
